Pros

Fjorge has a casual and friendly culture that values learning and improvement. If you want to learn and advance your skills, there are opportunities, it's not only encouraged, it can often be paid for. The company has identified that encouraging employee growth helps the company. You get to work on several projects with different languages, and in different roles, you can take ownership of them and build your resume. Coworkers are supportive, and eager to help. There are group activities, everything from cheesy team building events, to full paid office trips to sports event. There is never any pressure to attend. It's not a forced "we're a fun office" kind of thing. Employees's work is celebrated, and appreciated, and most peoples ideas and suggestions are genuinely considered and heard.

Cons

There is a lot going on, it can be hard to settle into a groove. Each pod is a bit of an island as far as culture and workflow, this means some of the negative reviews may be genuine experiences; they're certainly not everyone's experience. Space is starting to get tight at the current office.

Pros

The company has a set of core values that include growth, curiosity and teamwork. My managers care about me as a person and value a good work-life balance for their employees. That's not to say there aren't times when we have to roll up our sleeves and put in extra hours to get something done for a client but in general we strive to strike a balanced and planned approach to our work. Quarterly check-ins with managers allow an opportunity for frequent feedback. New employees have a mentor to help orient them to the company and when we meet our monthly revenue goals as a team we celebrate it with company outings. We have a diversity and inclusion plan and are looking at ways we can help the tech industry be more inclusive by starting with our own backyard.

Cons

The company has grown significantly in the last several years and this has brought some growing pains as we've transitioned from a small, more organizationally-flat company to a more sophisticated mid-size company. Sometimes the rate of change has been challenging but there are channels for input and feedback so that all employees can help shape the company culture and goals.

Thank you so much for your positive review! We appreciate your hard work and dedication to fjorge and our core values. Nearly tripling in size over the past couple years has caused significant growing pains and we thank you for contributing in a positive way through that transition.

Bad Culture, Bad Pay, Bad technology

Pros

Low expectations, little competition, free snacks.

Cons

See Review Title for the bullet points. This company has pathetic outdated technology to work on, gross frat bro senior management, and awful below market compensation. If you have any background in technology, look elsewhere- if you have a comm degree and no programming skills - and want to hack away at horrid php code, you're home!
