I recently joined one of Flagship Pioneering’s new portfolio companies, a recruiting process that extended over many months. Throughout the process, Flagship remained professional, understanding and most importantly patient. Flagship was invested in making sure that the opportunity was the right match and that the total experience was a positive one, positioning me not only to succeed at the current company but also building a long-term relationship with Flagship.

Cons

I did not experience any negatives with the recruiting process.

good pay with AMAZING benefits (100% medical), the opportunity to work with brilliant colleagues and the company has a really progressive vision A dream job for pure scientists!

Cons

The job can be all consuming at times, but that varies based on personality.

Working at Flagship has allowed me to continue thinking creatively about science while transitioning away from academia. Unlike the majority of industry jobs, Flagship encourages uniquely high levels of autonomy and scientific freedom.

Cons

Most scientists have no training in starting companies, so there is a steep learning curve initially.
