Pros
Understanding of personal medical situation that limited the length of shifts, when I thought I would have to quit they worked with me to create a more manageable schedule. I really appreciated this extra effort. 30 and 60 Day Reviews provided feedback from upper management. My first time in a job that had feed back structured in the system. I appreciated knowing that my effort was actually being noticed, because it could be hard to tell while on the job. Also is physical job. I enjoyed being able to move around, haul out pallets and use the forklift.
Cons
High learning curve since this department covers everything from farm machinery to electric fencing to dairy to equine and wild birds. I found it hard to break into the employee circles, as friendships had already been established by long-time employees. I never did make any friends. I believe it would have helped me as an employee view work as a place where I belonged, not just fortunate to have a job where I was treated with respect.
