Pros

Flock has truly been a career-defining opportunity for me. From when I joined over two years ago to today, I’ve grown more professionally and personally than I ever could have imagined. The work is hard and you’re challenged every day, but I wouldn’t want it any other way. We say it’s “hard work worth doing,” and I genuinely believe that. When you can point to real headlines or stats, like the thousands of missing persons brought home with Flock’s help, it makes every long day worth it. I’m surrounded by incredibly smart, driven people who push me to be better every day. Is Flock perfect? No. But we actively try to improve every day and stay focused on our mission of building a thriving community. Our leadership is honest, transparent, and I feel deeply connected to both the business and where we’re headed. If you’re looking for a chill job where you can coast, Flock isn’t the place for you. But if you want to grow, be challenged, and make a real impact on society, you should absolutely apply.

Cons

It’s hard work and the bar is high. Mediocrity won’t last long here. I’d love to see a 401k match in the future, but it’s not the end of the world.

Hard but Rewarding

Pros

This job isn’t easy, nor does it claim to be. Flock is a fast-growing company, and with that comes constant change and ambiguity. For those who thrive in that kind of environment, it offers real ownership, accelerated career growth, and the opportunity to build from the ground up. You’re trusted to lead, move quickly, and make a meaningful impact. The bar is high, and you’re challenged every day to meet or exceed it. Flock rewards people who are self-driven, adaptable, and ambitious. Flock is also deeply mission-driven. There’s a strong sense of purpose behind the work and a shared responsibility to build technology that helps keep communities safe. It’s rare to work on a product where the real-world impact is so clear, and that makes the work especially motivating.

Cons

Like many fast-growing companies, scaling brings challenges. Processes and communication don’t always keep pace with growth, which can lead to misalignment or rework. You have to be comfortable navigating ambiguity and helping build structure where it doesn’t yet exist.
