      Getting better by the day but still a tremendous amount to do and "undo."

      Pros

      Our new CEO. New working schedule which reduces what was once an 84 hour workweek to a more reasonable 50-60. Health benefit package is outstanding, but does not make up for the absurdly low salaries.

      Cons

      The school is still a mess thanks to the cliquish cabal of Julie Young. Dr. Blocker is doing an amazing job of attempting to undo decades of damage... damage to morale, damage to integrity, and damage to quality. He's begun with a reduction in our work demands (thank goodness - no more mandatory weekend work!), but he still has far to go.

      This is what education should never be

      Pros

      The salary for a Florida teacher is not bad. The salary is less than average for my state. There are some great students and parents who are really not being served well.

      Cons

      The expectations are completely unscrupulous. The curriculum often provides incorrect information - no one cares. Motivated students can do fairly well and learn a decent amount. The rest of the students are pushed through no matter what. Credit is given but material is not learned.

      Working From Home Teachers are really hard working and want you to succeed

      Cons

      No work life/balance Overload of students especially during the summer Some teams can be cliques, veterans looking out for each other Some IL's (Principal's) have no compassion, just want student completions.
