Pros

Work from home. No commute expenses. Highly intelligent colleagues. Flexible hours. Great training.

Cons

8-8 hours, seven days a week. Surveys determine your evaluation. Minimum quotas for completing students. Culture of fear. Constant fear of being let go. HR practices of firing without warning strike terror in the hearts of good teachers. Most of the day is on the phone. You can work from home, but your kids better be quiet 12 hours a day, and you best have the dog's vocal cords removed. NO UNION. You are at the mercy of management, even if they have been there a few months and you have years of experience.

Pros

The working environment has it's advantages, like working from home and making your own schedule.

Cons

When I was let go, my contract was not renewed...completely understandable. However, my former boss did not have the guts to sit in the meeting. This individual got on the phone, told me my contract was not being renewed and hung up. No explanation, no good-bye, just a coward move. The "family" culture has completely dissappeared.

Be prepared to be bullied.

Pros

Working from home cuts transportation and clothing costs per year. Health benefits are great.

Cons

The organization is only concerned with completions. They don't care how you get there, as long as you complete credits (which they get paid for, by the way). Feels like a diploma mill. Management rules by bullying and intimidation. Felt constant stress working here.
