Pros

Get to work from home Great benefits

Cons

It's sad to see what FLVS has become. I use to be so proud every time I spoke to someone about my job and how I finally felt like I was treated as a professional. Boy things have changed! Year after year the demands kept going up and up and the care and quality teachers gave their students kept going down due to these unrealistic demands. Teachers are asked to work extremely LONG hours with no consideration to the fact that these teachers have families. We work 7 days a week with no breaks. When FLVS offers a holiday or school "break", teachers who choose not to work during these breaks come back to an enormous amount of work that has accumulated over the break. Teachers are required to find their own coverage if they go on vacation or take sick time. FLVS has no consideration for its teachers. Policy is that no matter what the student (and their parents) do or say they are always right. Many times students will score a teacher low on the student surveys because that teacher pushed them to complete or did not answer immediately when they called. Completion rate and credit goals have become the most important thing for FLVS. They just don't seem to care about the people who break their backs each and every day to help them be on top of the virtual school world.
