      Flowserve IT

      Pros

      They have a good staff of analysts and managers for the most part. They are well funded and good equipment is provided.

      Cons

      From the IT directors on up, there seems to be a complete absence of anyone who really understands IT. All are MBAs without any CS or IT background. They are ineffective and have no real authority. The GMs ate the factories are allowed to dictate what applications to use. There is no real guiding plan to get the factories on a common system. It is a mess and there is no one willing to lead.

      Runaway from Flowserve if you are serious about your Career or your next job. Flowserve is for a basic job not a career

      Pros

      - They won't fire you, even if you don't perform well - They pay decent salaries and benefits

      Cons

      - Your career is doomed. You may not be able to find another job, because you will not gain any new skills by doing a Flowserve job - Bad promotion policies - Very slow salary growth (2 to 3 % per year) - No recognition for good work. Poor performer and best performer are almost treated the same way

      Pros

      Good facilities, good people. Product seems boring at first but is actually quite complex. Broad exposure to industry. Mix of custom product engineering and applications.

      Cons

      Nice but small town needing a connecting flight. Vacation time could be more. Not always the best direction but manageable.
