Great experience, declining benefits

Pros

Amazing people and the leadership is very considerate with an open door policy. You will get as much opportunity and growth as you want so it’s a great company to learn skills. If you want to transition to a different role in the company they will usually let you if there is an open role and you’re a good employee.

Cons

Flywheel was amazing… and then got bought by Omnicom. It’s clear that the CEO tried his best to retain benefits but has no real power to do much. With the loss of PTO, healthcare going from 100% covered to over $100 a paycheck and salaries well under industry average, there wasn’t much reason to stay. This is a great company for a first job because you will learn so much.

Pros

Fast learning in e-commerce because you will be thrown in the deep end from day 1. Big clients because of omnicom (many of which are at the risk of churn/ losing defensive RFPs)

Cons

You either sink or swim. If you sink with the overloaded workload stretching across too many workstreams / accounts. It's your fault. If you swim, you will be rewarded with more work and no compensation or growth. All good folks have already left or are planning their exits across all offices and management is delusional. Everyone is saving their own backside.

Pros

None, anymore. There used to be some, like work life balance and unlimited pto. Not anymore. Things will get worse the longer Omnicom owns Flywheel.

Cons

Terribly uncompetitive pay. Bait and switched me with a different salary after getting through interviews. Random layoffs of entire teams. Management takes no accountability for anything. People leave and have the same things to say during their exit interviews, but still nothing changes. With layoffs and adding accounts, you will be piled on with more and more work but no more pay. Media and retail were recently merged into one job. Again, more work, no increase in pay. If that wasn’t bad enough, their “unlimited pto” was recently removed, which was one of the main reasons of keeping a job that paid less, at Flywheel. Many people who are parents, who have also since left, would agree. Every week during the Flywheel and office meeting, all you ever hear about is “ai” this and that and “get more money and accounts”.
