      Pros

      The profit sharing plan was one of the best in the industry at one time and gave many of their seasoned associates a nice retirement cushion.

      Cons

      As of 2010, Food Lion has ceased hiring full time associates until they meet their corporate goal of a 60/40 percent ratio of 60% part timers and 40% full timers. In addition to this, you can no longer step down to a lesser position if you are currently in a position you cannot handle or dislike, the only other alternative is to just quit.

      Pros

      At the stores there are a lot of hard working peple that are all in to do a good job. Most have been there a long time. Pay used to be good but not anymore.

      Cons

      No work life balance to upper management they say that their most valuable asset is its employees but thats a lie. They only care about making a dollar. They cut hours daily and add work to whoevers hours dont get cut. They are slowly taking away all benifits away. They survey they have is a joke

      Pros

      always able to find the best possible deals from any retailer not always just at food lion but its easy to compare.

      Cons

      The backroom can get out of hand very fast if proper ordering procedures are no ordered and lots of work will be required to get it back to normal
