Pros

Good training, the company invests a lot of money and resources into training their employees. Paid training to include certifications. Generally good people in the organization. Wholesome and friendly colleagues. Mentors are available. Career building and skill strengthening. Quarterly check-ins with EM. Higher education/training promoted by company. Networking and travelling to project sites and events enable career growth and exposure to other industry leaders and trades.

Cons

High demand in travel, sometime >50% of the year. Far trips to jobsites in the field with very minimal reimbursement. Very expensive medical insurance for family coverage. Around $1000/month Gainful Profit-sharing takes too long to be rewarded by. Up to 5 years of tenure before significant profit-sharing bonus to take effect.

Your insights regarding our training program, employee benefits, and travel policies are invaluable. In response to your comments, we want to acknowledge that we understand the challenges you've highlighted. Beginning in 2023 and continuing into 2024, we have initiated a thorough review of our benefits programs. Pros

I learned a lot about how modern, network-integrated A/V systems work. The company paid for my training, and where there were shortcomings I was able to ask my colleagues when I had questions. The people you work with are the best resource you have at Ford. Field employees are a treasure, treat them with respect, admiration and appreciation.

Cons

I posted this review about 4 months after I started with Ford AV, in October of 2022. I was then contacted about the review, and deleted in fear that I would be fired (due to other reviews from employees in other states). After the fact, I was overworked/undersupported until I quit to join another AV integrator. "Every jobsite I have been on with Ford AV has been a scheduling and planning nightmare. Project managers are undertrained, and are encouraged to assign unattainable timeframes to unbelieaveable workloads. I get told I'm flying across 2 timezones for a week long job 36 hours in advance if I'm lucky. Even division management is scared of the CEO/President, they don't seem like they care until they're spending money instead of making it. Don't take salary over hourly if they offer it. They'll make you work plenty of overtime no matter what, you might as well get paid for it. I'm convinced they have such high engineer turnover because they send salaried Engineers-In-Training to jobs instead of hourly install techs to save a buck. At the end of the day, it's a job, and I'm glad to have had it. I traveled, I made Southwest and Wyndham points, and I moved on with my career.

Pros

It’s very high tech and does meet the work hours for full time.

Cons

Hard to grow in the company, terrible pay, even engineers get the same pay as some ITs. Management isn’t organized, scheduling is inconsistent in time and doesn’t follow OSHA procedures. Don’t even follow the companies own policies.
