Pros

Very exciting mission that the company has, solving real problems in the world and enhancing the capabilities of our armed forces, putting less of our kids in harms way with autonomous vehicles. We have a suite of new autonomy products that are beginning to make waves in the vehicle autonomy space on the commercial side. Very smart, talented, and energized group of people that are on track to propel the company to success. There is actually a realistic path to profitability. Scale-up mode: we are either going to the moon or we will blow up the rocket getting there. Whatever happens, it will be an exciting and rewarding ride. Culturally, I am trusted to do my best work and to get it done. There is no micromanaging happening. Appreciate getting shares in the company, lets make them worth something!

Cons

RRAI is a 20 year old R&D company that primarily relied on government contracts for revenue. After its first capital raise, it became clear that its no longer robot club, but rather a company that needs to take what its developed and now derive and deliver a commercial viability plan and produce and support real products at scale, and turn a profit. This is a massive transformation from start-up to scale-up. It takes time, and its a MASSIVE cultural shift for a company this old, this isn't a blank-slate startup.

Pros

Lots of brilliant hard working employees from the top all the way down. Very friendly environment, very cool projects, and the CEO prides himself on treating his employees well. Didn't lay off a single employee during Covid. Lots of room for professional growth.

Cons

Constantly in a state of growth which means frequent growing pains (expanding office space, expanding test areas, too much work to go around while trying to hire more people and train them, etc.)

Pros

Forterra is honestly one of those rare companies that gets it right. The leadership team is incredible. They’re transparent, down-to-earth, and they actually care about both the mission and the people behind it. The culture here is also VERY rare for tech. No egos, no politics, no weird startup vibes. Everyone’s humble, helpful, and genuinely enjoys being here. You can tell people truly want to see each other win and are always willing to lend a hand. Leadership takes pride in the culture - they take it VERY seriously. You could be qualified for a role, but if you suck as a person, they won’t bring you on. On the flip side, if they see something in you and want you to join the team, they’ll find a way to make it work. The team’s full of veterans, so there’s a real sense of purpose and drive. It’s not about hype chasing some flashy IPO to feed egos. People here actually care about the mission. It’s just a great group of people doing meaningful work in a low-drama, high-trust environment. I feel so lucky to be part of it.

Cons

Honestly none that I can think of
