Pros

* The company has done a lot of M&As and divestitures, so there are a lot of changes going on. * White MBAs are highly valued. A lot of white people with MBA degrees are being placed on a fast-track program, where they get promoted every 1 or 2 years, despite the fact that they have zero relevant experience or have poor management capabilities. (If you are in the category, I highly encourage you to join us) * Continous improvement and Kaizen is a big thing in the company, so the process keeps improving and costs keep getting cut. * Work-life balance is great. No question about it.

Cons

* A lot of underlying racism in the company. Although the leadership talks a lot about diversity and inclusion, the company's actual culture is very different. The majority of the leadership roles are held by white people, and it is very hard for people of color to survive in the company. * Trumpism is part of the company's culture. If you visit Fortive's plants, you can see a lot of MAGA and Trump posters and labels here and there on the production floor. If you accidentally talk about liberal agendas, they will let you have it. * Skin color is everything. As mentioned above, the majority of the leadership roles are held by white people, and they only look after the people that look like them. I have seen many white people that have limited relevant experience and poor management skills got promoted. On the other end, I have also seen a lot of great, bright, and hard-working Black, Brown, Asian people got forced out or let off for no reason. * Relationship is everything. Politic is a big thing in the company. Experience, skills, and hard-works are not. Other than having the right skin, the other best way to get promoted is to build a good relationship with the right people.

Pros

Literally, the only pros at FTV is that there are really good and really smart people.

Cons

The caveat is that most of the people you encounter are just that but it doesn't mean it will transfer to how they show up as coworkers. FTV corporate preach FBS but are often as the leader, the worst practitioners. They preach about equality, diversity, and integrity, but I honestly do not believe that exists within the senior leadership team. The leaders care more about their political agendas than doing what is right and ethical.

Pros

This place tries to improve and keep employees in general. It provides a lot of potential to grow within the company.

Cons

Always last minute fire drill. The management cannot make a decision and hold employees to work extra hours for it. Poor communication resulted in a lot of surprises to people's expectation. No process at all.
