Pros

Managers listen to your needs. Room for lots of growth. Non-toxic work environment. Flexible schedule to work from home. The company listens to complaints. Open to changes. Onboarding makes you feel welcomed.

Cons

The benefits are great but still could be a little better. Still a growing company so there are always changes happening. Not very diverse.

Thanks so much for leaving us a review! We're thrilled to hear that you feel listened to, appreciated during the onboarding experience, and you're excited about the room for growth here. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is something that we will never be experts on, but strive to continuously improve. Our DEI committee has planned several employee-led coffee chats and professional trainings to keep DEI top of mind for all. Pros

Outstanding Company Ethos and Mission Driven Our mission is to empower small businesses and we work with them to make sure the cash advances that we offer to help them succeed and that the revenue-based financing we provide will not negatively impact their business. Great Culture Even during the pandemic, our People and Culture team strives to make sure we bring the team together virtually at least once a week to make sure that we all see each other's faces. During non-pandemic times, the company offers tickets to Red Sox, Celtics, and Bruins games multiple times per week. High Autonomy and Interesting Challenges Working in Fintech provides a lot of really interesting challenges. We receive thousands of submissions each day and we have to move them throughout our pipeline very quickly integrating with dozens of internal and external services to provide the information our team needs to make informed and quick decisions. We're always looking for smart and talented people to bring new perspectives to how we think about our systems. Stability and Worklife Balance As an engineering team, our customer base is our fellow teammates. They work roughly 9-5 which means that we don't expect to work outside of those hours. The company is profitable and isn't subject to investor decisions, which means that we aren't scrambling to hit some arbitrary market exit or acquisition. This also means our roadmap is clear and we don't need to pivot constantly.

Cons

The company is currently transitioning from Startup Mode into Maturity. Like most startups, we also suffer from a significant amount of technical debt, however, we take this very seriously and much of our roadmap is dedicated to paying this down. However, there are parts of the codebase that are very difficult to understand. As changes here can be very risky, we occasionally cause unintentional bugs that can be very frustrating.

Thanks so much for sharing your detailed feedback! We love to hear that you love Forward Financing's mission, fun culture, interesting work, and work/life balance. We're thrilled that we can get back into hosting some of the fun events that are a big part of the Forward Financing experience. As a high-growth company, we've been moving faster than our tech has been able to keep up, and we cannot wait until our new CRM is ready to go this fall so we can dedicate more time to new projects. Thank you again! People and Culture team
