Pros

Good pay and fun if you like kids

Cons

Kids are annoying sometimes and lessons are too short. I always feel rushed.

Thank you for sharing your feedback! We're glad to hear that you enjoy the pay and have fun working with the kids—it’s a big part of what makes this job so fulfilling. We understand that working with kids can sometimes be challenging, and we appreciate your honesty. Pros

The swim lesson program itself to teach kids how to swim is amazing.

Cons

I love the swim lesson program on how to teach kids to swim. Thebissues come from upper management. I was forced as the special needs teacher always, and was told that I had to teach a class that was beyond our scope of training. This, and the favoritism, and only wanting a "yes man" wasn't OK with me. A site director cosigned an apartment for a part time employee and said, "they'll make sure to get them hours." Glad I left them. The benefits are also laughable. The bare min for medical I was paying $800 a month just for me.

Pros

It pays well for being a swim instructor and you won't need to deal with big classes.

Cons

Foss has their own swim program that is copletely different from the Red Cross. It's good for the most part but some of the skills we teach and don't teach are pretty wack. Like every stroke they teach has some stupid made up name like "Frank and Murray." Just let me call it front crawl.

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us! We’re glad to hear that you’re happy with the pay and enjoy working with smaller class sizes—it’s important to us that our instructors feel supported in delivering quality lessons. We understand that our swim curriculum is different from other programs, and we appreciate your perspective. We’re proud of the unique program we’ve developed and the success it has brought to our students. The names and techniques are designed to keep lessons engaging and fun for the kids, which has been a key part of the program’s effectiveness. That being said, we always welcome feedback to improve the experience for both instructors and students. If you’d like to discuss it further, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We appreciate your input and all your hard work! HR@fosswimschool.com.
