Pros

Good office, free beer on Fridays, some parties, PlayStation and other games inside the office, some benefits and discounts. Stable revenue in the company, at least as I know, but a lot of key persons left the company in HQ office. So keep in mind that those people are not leaving the company just because they want something new. And also don't expect high salary. Real benefit: you can work only 4 hr a day (or even less). Because you spend 1.5hr for gym in the middle of the day, then 1hr for lunch, then for games. really cool. I personally not a fun of such attitude, but people do this. If you're lucky and manager is not crazy about selfish goals you can get fun here, don't care about your tech skills and drink beer, while you are fixing bugs and do other monkey job. Don't expect something really challenging.

Cons

This company is for managers, not for developers. Technology stack is regular .NET stack, nothing special. .NET Core - very little. Messaging - very little. Async or Multi-threading - No. Azure - no or very-very little. Multi-layer management - it means they will push you, you'll do real work, but they will take all awards, saying just 'Thanks. You're so good'. Management is not sincere and opened. Always they behave like they know better then you what you need, what you want, should think and do. You'll be told nice words, but their attitude and real actions deviate from that, and always there are some reasons. Fake people. Management is old fashion and selfish. I've been directly told that I'm cog of a machine by local top manager. Management don't tolerate open discussions about their vision and tech skills. You'll be doomed if you tell that he has no understanding in some area. Watch your words very carefully. The initiative is not respected if management don't want. You may be smart, bright professional, but management doesn't care about it. Management don't listen. They have their vision of your "growth" and they don't care about your thoughts. If you tell that you don't agree it means you don't listen and maybe even stupid. Keep in mind the rule: what is not explicitly allowed, is forbidden. There is a lot of good words and decorations behind which there is no real willing to follow this. Words leads to actions, but this is not the case here. And everything is so "soft" that you'll feel that you're betraied, but there are always reason which are more important than you. And this is normal here. For example, company cannot sponsor you to go to interesting conference even it's within budget, and you're not happy. BUT you should be happy (I've been told that I should) because other employees visiting conferences. This is really funny. Managers don't expect from you anything more than to be a cog.

Firstly sorry your time with us has come to an end and I hope you are happy in whatever you are doing now. You covered a lot in your post so I will try to address the main points. The office is purposefully relaxed because our philosophy is to treat people like adults not stand over their shoulder. Maybe this didnt feel right for you which in many ways I can understand but its an important part of culture and 95% people treat and embrace this respectfully. The technology point has been well covered. We are a product company with a mixture of technology powering our solutions, old and new. That's pretty normal but also again not for everyone. If you were made to feel like a cog in machine, I am truly sorry. Whilst we always want to be aligned and work together towards the same goals, every person counts in that. In Sofia we have a manager to employee ratio of about 10:1 so our business is very much built upon the efforts of our engineers. I will continue to look at how we can better manage the teams so the engineers really feel this. All the best, Jon Walder

Fourth is going downhill....fast

Pros

Fourth offers a great work life balance, with flexible working options and hybrid work models. The commission package linked to roles used to be very good with a real motivation to achieve sales.

Cons

In 2025 Fourth has gone downhill fast, cutting back on resources, commission packages and eventually announcing mass redundancies and replacing talented skilled teams with outsourced agency Filipinos. Undervaluing the power and knowledge of customer facing workers and the influence their relationships have on direct business relationships.

Pros

Well known brand in their space

Cons

CEO Obsession with data, reporting, activity. Quantity over quality and it flowed down affecting most especially commercial teams.
