There are two tiers of staff, practice staff and everyone else. If you're not on the CPA tract, then expect very little in ways of professional development support, career growth, conference attendance, etc. They are extremely below market when it comes to compensation and require 2 years to "vest" in their 401k match, which is ridiculous as most employers have moved to instant vesting now. Trying to negotiate market compensation is seen as a negative rather than normal, rational, adult behavior.

You get lost in the crowd, firm only focused on partner profitability when staff are driving all the profits, cut pay raises this year for all, growing too fast to be sustainable, culture has changed since I started. Some of those in management will throw staff under the bus so they don't look bad.
