Pros

You can get good experience learning what children on the autism spectrum are like, learning some strategies to handle difficult behaviors.

Cons

Know what you're getting yourself into. Much of what you will be doing is "obedience training". Teaching kids to follow commands without giving them context to fully understand why they should be listening to you, only that since you're an authority figure they should listen. Many adults who have gone through this kind of therapy have called it harmful if not traumatizing. While the kids are amazing and easy to love, you have to consider whether or not you actually think this is what is best for them. While it might not be as black and white as it is made out to be, it is up to you to ask yourself if you believe that this will really help them in the future.
