Pros

The job is relatively secure, the hours can be pretty good, pay is ok and usually in line with competitors

Cons

Terrible bosses, unclear instructions, little to no training provided, got paid 4.20 less an hour than an employee that had worked there a month less than me

Pros

A very good salary. Lots of OT too.

Cons

Blatant sexism. Male counterparts are favored. Literally, one walked off the job, another refused to work a shift, both fireable offenses, but middle management told me "there is nothing we can do about it." Yet, as a woman, they don't hesitate to threaten termination, no kidding, because I allegedly did not issue a morning greeting in a cheerful enough tone to the aforementioned male's liking.

Pros

Benefits, Freds has some of the cheapest, and best coverage insurance, 401K, etc. Fred Meyer tons of Outreach programs , Race for the Cure, Junior Achievement, Relay for Life, Rake up Boise, FitOne, Stack the Bus, etc.

Cons

No work life balance. Wages are ccompetitive until you hit tenure. Than as you greet is a *wage adjustment* not even a cost of living increase. Coworkers become your family, until it doesn't benefit them. I worked here 17 years and was a divisional merchadising manager got hurt and was left to the wolves completely. 17 years of working my body to maximum capacity, really giving 110% too this job, going where ever they needed me for remodels, restructuring, even out of state for coverage for Union Contract negotiations coverage. Then told were sorry you're in your 30's, know exactly how to file a work injury, but we had no idea you got hurt and there's no evidence (video, paperwork, and employee witness statements) to back up your claim. Sorry.
