Lack of variety of work/experiences. Easy to get pigeon holed. Salary doesn't keep up with cost of living and merit isn't actually merit based. They will keep piling more of the same old work on you even if you've expressed desire for a change of responsibility. They do not hire more people so if you shoulder new things, there will be no one to off load those menial tasks onto. There is little to no upward movement because the top is pretty heavy and overloaded.
