Missing the Mark

Pros

The people that do the "grunt work" (i.e. Consultants, Supervisors, Business Analyst and the like). The folks that care about the Customer, the business and not their position. The 401K options are great and the Insurnace options good but expensive, like most healthcare.

Cons

Telecom is hurting as a whole but Leadership was lacking. Poor management started with the first CEO in 2010, their prodigy, who was an "engineer". The lack of invest in the future of fiber was the missed mark. They grew to fast and did not take care of their infrastructure. They have a new CEO who is making changes at the top but this story has been written before...new regime, old cronies. At least the last guy didnt bring his buddies before dippin'.

No work-life balance and culture

Pros

Moderately ok benefits. Stable job. If you work day and night, you can be promoted. Brought brand new promising leaders on the top with excellent track records to modernize. New business model on fiber looks promising.

Cons

No culture. Zero communication. Leadership is fishy, flaky, and shady about decisions. People don’t trust each other and selfish. HR and leaders are inconsistent and contradictory and make false promises to retain employees. Old school and military style with waterfall strategies. Black and brown people work day and night, but their white coworkers that praise the bosses get promoted into the management ranks. Hidden slavery and racism. Managment is predominately reserved for white supremacy. Salary is 20-40% below rate. Everyone works on silos. No introduction to team members. No announcement of any sort. Feels like working for the CIA!
