Pros

Good pay and benefits; worked at home

Cons

No employer loyalty - everyone is expendable; constant management changes; unrealistic sales goals to the point that co-workers would "steal" each others sales or would change the employee codes on "lost" orders to meet their goals. When brought to the attention of my manager about a co-workers underhanded dealings, lying to and slamming customers, I was told to mind my own business (even though I felt it was my business since some of the customers/orders that he slammed were mine). By the way, this underhanded person is now a supervisor - how ironic. I worked for this company for over 7 years. I always made goals and was offered positions into management. I did not take the management offers as it seemed they were more expendable than the on-line representatives. My employment ended when I got sick. I was going to doctors and eventually had to have surgery. After I returned to work after my surgery, I had complications and was rushed to the hospital. I was not able to call in, however, my co-worker/friend advised my supervisor where I was and what was going on. I was fired for "no call/no show".

Pros

As a new employee, everybody is welcoming. The bonus & commission plans pay very well. Company brings a lot of community awareness. PTO & benefits are pretty good.

Cons

This job is 90% sales & 10% customer service. You are rewarded for sales & not rewarded for good customer service at all so customers are slammed with services they never ask for. The phone & HSI service is terrible. A lot of customers complain about it & there not much resolution. All of the resources are always not available so it makes really hard for the consultant to do their job.

Pros

PTO is great when the time is there, which it often isn't, still a strength Lots of cute little incentives, like raffles and such. Commission and pay for performance, if you can meet the ever-changing metrics. Some nice people Very easy to get hired

Cons

Some managers and coaches just don't care Training is awful considering the level of support they require you to give to customers, I'm positive a large portion of the techs can't tell you how DSL even works. They are told to just throw around fancy words like DSLAM and BRAS with no understanding. HR is the worst I've ever seen, to the point where I had to go to the director several times to make arrangements, no HR person in the building daily
