Pros

I get a chance to work with some very talented people. The vibe there is great. I have had a chance to learn some new skills and they have gone out of there way to give me the opportunity to use what I have learned.

Cons

They are based out of Santa Cruz and so the pay is a bit low. Some of there processes are being reworked so there are times when it feels a little chaotic but the improvements are starting to take shape.

Co-workers are smart, hard-working and friendly. Dog-friendly offices. Real problem-solving with actual innovation. Prime location with beautiful weather.

Cons

During big pushes everyone works long hours and you will be expected to do the same.

Pros

Product-focused company. All engineers have significant contributions to real, shipping products that we are proud of. While hard work is expected, the work/life balance is reasonable by startup standards. Very little time spent in meetings. Most time spent programming. Also, the CEO has loyalty to the employees. Over his last three companies, he has never had a layoff, even during downturns.

Cons

When things get hectic trying to get a release out, sometimes communications from engineering management suffer, which can be a bit frustrating. We've had fast growth so there are some growing pains in terms of organizational structure.
