Pros

I moved to Alaska in February 2015 and started working for GCI then. Everything about the company is awesome! Great people, great culture, and so many opportunities to grow, learn and develop a solid career. GCI is definitely the premier employer of Alaska and I'm so happy with my decision to move to Alaska and work for GCI!

Cons

If you've never lived in Alaska, you won't understand the vast differences of living here. The awesome beauty, the outdoor recreation, and the people are second to none!!

Pros

Excellent benefits (401k, medical, etc) and you can advance quickly if you work hard enough. Most members of the management teams do an excellent job with keeping focused on the task at hand. New faces and fresh ideas are prevalent these days. Company synergy is at an all-time high.

Cons

MOST members of management teams are good, but definitely not all of them. Information needs to get out to workers faster than it currently does; sometimes the left hand will move and the right hand gets left behind or lost. This is getting better, but these instances still occur far too frequently. I feel like we could be doing more to optimize our wireless network statewide.
