Pros

Decent pay Decent tech and systems

Cons

Limited growth opportunities if your not in a GE program. They will always try to hire externally and pay more rather than give an employee a chance for growth. Severe mismanagement of hiring and spending leads to CONSTANT restructuring layoffs. I have seen top performers get laid off just because this company doesn't know how to manage their expenses. They will overhire past budgets, then restructure and lay their top talent off, then rehire externally and end up paying even more than had they kept the original people. Promotions are very rare and they genuinely don't care about you as an employee as they will axe you in a moments notice just to save a quick buck because they can't manage logical cost controls. TLDR: poor management = 0 job security

Pros

Interesting products in medical systems with many knowledgeable colleagues to learn from.

Cons

GE Healthcare faces many cultural challenges in growing, rewarding and retaining internal talent. Some of those are: 1. Frequent reorganizations and restructuring efforts. 2. Limited visibility into the work of other departments or groups. 3. High levels of technical debt that can slow down progress. 4. Ambiguous role definitions and unclear ownership of responsibilities. 5. Significant resources spent on processes over actual product/service advancements (e.g., too many useless meetings, discussions, and flowcharts aimed at process improvement). 6. Compensation is relatively low for amount of work done. Many employees could potentially earn more elsewhere. 7. Promotion practices favor appearances over tangible work outcomes. 8. Middle management incentives focus on maximizing output rather than fostering employee growth and retention, resulting in poor work-life balance practices and a toxic work environment.
