We’re glad to hear that you’re experiencing meaningful work as a new college graduate. We believe consulting is a fantastic opportunity to apply the knowledge learned in an academic environment. In consulting, you get to work with a variety of clients and projects which builds skills and provides invaluable experience that positively impacts your entire career. We intentionally leave space for our employees to create career paths aligned with our client needs and their personal interests. To inform that process, we have our Learning Path, a comprehensive guide available on our intranet (GEI Connections). Within our Learning Path, we encourage you to check out our newly expanded programs now available to entry-level employees: • Building Blocks: Our client-relationship focused program with three levels, designed for different stages of your career. • Leadership Development Program: Our leadership program with three levels designed to support leaders at all states of their career. We also have our vast eLearning program with a wide variety of on-demand learning. We support growth with both time and reimbursement in other areas too, such as attending conferences, obtaining professional certifications, writing white papers or blogs, obtaining additional education through our tuition reimbursement program and more. Please speak with your supervisor during your Connecting Conversation to learn more about how GEI can support your long-term career success and growth. Your Branch and Regional Manager are also resources for you. Thank you for your dedication to our clients and company.

We’re disappointed to hear that you feel we are overly focused on profit through micro-management. We do perform slightly above the median of our industry peer group from a profit perspective. Our focus, as a company, is first and foremost on our clients and employees. We believe that by focusing on adding value and providing great service for our clients and providing a great workplace full of career growth opportunities for our employees, the profits follow. We do keep an eye on overhead expenses to ensure we can provide above industry total rewards to our employees and can remain competitive to win exciting new projects. We reinvest our profit back to our employees in a variety of ways including profit sharing, an above market performance bonuses and Total Rewards package, training and career development opportunities, such as our Leadership Development Program (LDP) and tuition reimbursement programs, to name a few. The leadership of our company has always had multiple tiers while avoiding bureaucracy. Our executive leaders wear two to three hats each to avoid being too “top heavy,” and we have very few layers of leadership between the entry and the executive level. We are in the process of launching our new Internal Advisory Board, which will contain a balanced mixed of leaders of all levels, to augment the leadership our employees already provide through our various committees, such as Sustainability, Risk, QA/QC, DE+I and more. I encourage you to speak with your regional operations manager or any member of our executive team to further discuss your feedback and learn about opportunities to engage in the leadership of our company.
