Pros

The work environment is professional and laissez faire. The people are busy but willing to help out. Benefits are good.

Cons

The environment lacks diversity. If you want to advance, you need to put in a ton of hours on a weekly basis.

Thank you for your feedback. We’re glad to hear that you’re enjoying our work environment. While we have many positive attributes as an organization, we are not perfect and are continually striving for improvement. One of our key areas of focus is diversity. We recently created a Board-sponsored Diversity + Inclusion committee to take diversity to the next level at GEI. We anticipate this effort will help us continue to make strides in diversity, while celebrating the areas where we are already meeting or exceeding benchmarks in our industry, such as the percentage of women in our workplace. With regard to metrics and “paperwork,” in order to thrive as we have, it’s important to keep an eye on our metrics and performance. What we strive to do is to strike a balance and not be overly focused on any one performance indicator in our organization. If you have questions about metrics, diversity or any other topic, we highly encourage you to take advantage of our open door environment and speak with your direct supervisor or any senior leader.

Pros

some staff engineers are friendly.

Cons

Lack of work, lots of favoratism towards young and attractive females. In my time there a newly hired young female was introduced to the board of directors, taken to client meetings, and given better field opportunities. Women given perks denied to others as well (ex: car rentals for conferences). Moreover, training for fieldwork was completely inadequate. GEI has the habit of giving as little training as possible (to male engineers at least). Female engineers were given one-on-one training with senior professionals/management. Instead of being promoted (flawless year end review, high utlization) was laid off. Advice to others is to be careful. Review has nothing to do with who they decide to let go.
