Pros

Benefits and Schedule Options are great

Cons

Working at GEICO is like being in a bad marriage where your spouse is never happy. The metrics are always changing. Example, when I started 3 years ago selling Renters insurance was not a requirement. Then they changed it to have 3 % of the pop up's for renters was required to be transferred to that department for a quote. Then it changed to 6%. Then they made a rule if you got a pop up and you didn't offer it could be a write up or termination. Then they had a training that you needed permission from the customer to transfer. Then it became just get them over without permission from the customer. Now they want 15% to be a quote. By the way, if you get them over and the renters agent doesn't quote it doesn't count. In Florida, if you get a home owners quote, you can only transfer if the home is 2002 or newer. This needs to be part of the conversation. I was written up for asking the age of the home in the wrong order. I was written up for having the wrong inflection in my voice. Even if you have 90% of excellent reviews from the people you helped, they will complain that the call lasted too long. Working here is what I call nano- management. They will never be happy. It's like a spouse who continuously complains that you can't do anything right. When Todd Combs released a statement saying that the agents got a raise, he didn't mention they took our bonus away for profit sharing. So it was a loss. We took a years worth of calls from angry customers because they raised the rates 40%. We were paid less. Then the company boasted that the profits were very high and we don't get bonus anymore...it goes straight to the top.
