Poor culture

Pros

Lots of resources as an investment professional

Cons

Poor culture, as a whole unfriendly environment though some individuals can be nice. Bureaucratic and political, investment performance does not matter. You have to be good at managing everyone's perception of you if you want to succeed. Emphasis more on relationship management rather than making money.

Pros

Many people said GIC provided good benefits, it is true if you compare it with those 2nd commercial banks

Cons

Leadership sucks, they seem to be deliberate like the politicians but they never told the truth in front of people. Most of words are lip services only. Techonology staff are treated as 2nd class citizens and contributions are not valued even though CXO kept saying they want the firm to be driven by Technology. Understaff is a big problem in Technology department and HRs spent huge efforts and huge money in recruiting but good people in the market are not willing to join them because the firm has been well known for its toxic culture and incompetent managers/leaders.
