Good work-life balance

Pros

The job offers good work-life balance (compared to other finance jobs in banking, PE, etc) and fair compensations. You do get to work with some smart and hard-working people. The firm encourages everyone to have a view and voice their opinions during meetings.

Cons

The culture is not for everyone. There are a lot of procedures in place to follow for almost everything you do. Bureaucratic and inefficient. Not a meritocracy.

Pros

Competitive salary and good staff welfare.

Cons

Very subjective performance appraisal system. Leaving a good impression to the higher management in the appraisal panel is key to promotion. Performance within job scope does not make much impact in the performance review as often the reporting officer is not in the appraisal panel. Those staff whose reporting officer is in the panel have advantages. Senior management doesn't bother to know his/her staff well.
