Pros

can't think of many. Fairly competitive benefits for store managers. Hourly employees to receive holiday pay, they only have one medical insurance option and it is poor.

Cons

store managers shoulder a huge workload and many responsibilities. Hourly employees also have many shift duties, as well as running register, selling lottery, money orders, phone cards, accepting ebt and dealing with age restricted sales. Often a store will run on single coverage with expectation same work load will be completed as double coverage stores. Thank you's are sparse, promotion and appreciation not based on merit. Turn over in all positions, hourly, managers, supervisors, extremely high. No quality of life balance. Managers salary based on 52 hour work week, company culture is you work as many hours as you need to get the job done, 55-60 hours or more per week not unusual. Managers are required to cover call outs, no call no show, if they cant find anyone to work. If you have to work 2-3 shifts it is no big deal. No support from upper management. Company expectations and standards change frequently, often with no prior information given. Hourly employees, managers expected to come to work at moments notice with no regard to your personal life. Very few truly professional people in field level. store managers are often thrown into a store with little or no training but expected to function like experienced manager. Hourly employee's start at $8.00 per hour. Very chaotic atmosphere. Like working inside a giant pressure cooker.

Pros

None at all. shady company! Only pro was the faithful regular customers and the employees!

Cons

Work over 60hrs a week and cover any call offs, get wrote up for bad audits when it was caused by the auditors mistakes, customer theft, and inventory awaiting credits. if they want you gone you will notice inventory /audit shortages ect and be wrongly fired. Never worked for such a BAD company. They do not care about their employees. You Have no home/work life balance. Health benefits are not worth it. Company only cares about buying stores and becoming/being the biggest chain of c-store businesses! District managers are a big joke and don't back up their managers when in the right!

Terrible company

Pros

I had a wonderful staff that went above and beyond. I met a lot of great people in my three years and I learned a lot.

Cons

Managers are expected to work a minimum of 52 hours a week (only got paid for 40), to cover shifts at a moments notice, and always be available because if not you'll get in trouble. Terrible home/work balance and definitely not enough pay for the headache. This company doesn't like to fix things the right way, everything is just rigged to work until either it can't be rigged anymore or someone gets hurt. Absolutely no concern for employees health and well-being. I honestly don't know how this company is still running.
