Run! Don’t walk away from GPM Investments
Pros
A job when you are desperate. GPM is very desperate for people to run their stores so you think they would pay more, make sure equipment works, spend time and money on training and hire qualified store managers. Think again. They DON’T!!!
Cons
I am an experienced, college degreed business management supervisor and came out of retirement at the request of a prior business acquaintance to work for GPM. It was a very poor decision on my part. GPM’s investment strategy is to purchase old, underperforming chains and squeeze whatever they can out of them. Most of the facilities are old, worn out and suffer numerous breakdowns with repairs taking weeks or months. Imagine how hard it would be to operate a convenience store in the southern part of the US when the A/C has been down for 6-8 weeks. Then upper management has the “balls” to hold you responsible for the poor sales, lack of staffing and overall performance of the operation. Upper management is staffed by people with ONLY the bottom line in mind. People only matter when it comes to paying them overtime. Please heed my advice and NEVER work for this company unless you cannot get any other work.
