A lot of glitter on the outside, but not so much on the inside

Pros

Employee perks for free food and shuttle services.

Cons

Very poor and immature leadership. Lots of in-fighting and fiefdom building. Having too much money, leads to some very poor decision making. Hi turn-over rate, and for a company that is trying to discover cancer, it can't see the cancer that it has itself internally destroying it.

Pros

* Many Silicon Valley perks such as shuttles from SF to MP, free lunches, gym, unlimited PTO and flexible work hours * Incredibly smart and driven work force with people at the top of the game from clinical, business, software, and scientific backgrounds * Incredibly focused (mantra-like) on the goal of detecting cancer early, when it can be cured

Cons

* Uneven career ladder leveling across company * Can be a culture of ego/arrogance, especially in between departments, which can make communication and getting things done difficult * Company direction has pivoted back and forth enormously in the matter of months (maybe normal for a company less than 3 years old?) * Some waste of resources due to need to churn out results quickly * Competitive atmosphere (although that can be good too)

Pros

GRAIL has a powerful and meaningful mission—early cancer detection. It’s fulfilling to be part of something that’s truly impacting lives.

Cons

Growing pains as the company scales—sometimes processes are unclear or rapidly changing. Communication between departments could be improved. Some departments are understaffed, which can lead to burnout if not managed properly. Promotions and internal opportunities can sometimes seem influenced more by personal connections with leadership than by actual performance or qualifications. This can be discouraging for employees who consistently go above and beyond but are overlooked.
