Pros

office location, hours are good

Cons

senior staff are compensated above market and do nothing except placate the CEO. Waste of 1million that could be used for the grameen program.

Pros

The mission is very compelling, and for anyone interested in microfinance, Grameen is where it all started, so it seems like a great place to start/ gain experience.

Cons

There is a clear lack of professionalism in the organization from the top down. This leads to disorganized supervisors, with no boundaries and very poor communication skills . My personal experience and observations were managment was abusive, abrasive, rude and highly unprofessional. This is further illustrated in the big salary gap between the senior staff and the junior staff. For an organization that is focused on alleviating poverty, the salaries of the bulk of the staff is under living wages. In the two years I was associated with the organization, I do not exaggerate, there was 100% staff turnover in several departments - again employees frustrated and voting with their feet.
