Pros

Good pay is all they offer. There really is nothing nice I can say about this company. Many employees have quit as well as many members.

Cons

Where do I begin. The training programs in place are a total joke. Definitely a "throw you to the wolves" mentality. Unrealistic goals changed monthly and like to put you on a PIP for extremely petty stuff. They enjoy watching you walk on eggshells and LOVE setting you up for failure within this company. Playing favorites is a total understatement. They hire their friends from within and then have them do their dirty work of firing good employees or push you to quit.

Pros

Great pay. HQ has a nice building with a gym. Benefits were OK and a lot of the employees were great to work with. The social events were usually fun.

Cons

GTE offers horrible management. I have seen a lot of talented IT people leave this company over poor management and how situations were handled. HR was pretty useless. They make it seem like you have just joined the best organization in town but that quickly goes away when you start your job. I became overworked and burned out in the first year. They would not hire quality people to do the job. Backstabbing, spying, and talking about staff between unqualified team members and managers. What a joke! The best thing I ever did was hit that door running.

Pros

While I do appreciate their medical, vision and dental plan and their overall "total rewards', it is hard to justify this as a PRO when there are so many CONS to consider.

Cons

Ineffective New CEO. Senior Vice-Presidents work with binders on and do not see the employees beyond being work horses. Collectively they lack awareness that employees are frustrated when decisions are made in a vacuum without thought of how the constant push to do more is hurting the overall engagement of the employees. The so-called Wolf-Life Balance does not exist at GTE Financial. While I received great initial training, my manager provides zero feedback or coaching on how I can be a better employee and contribute to the goals. Instead, we are gathered for meetings to tell us that we do not do enough with threats.
