Pros

Lots of natural light and windows, located in a very accessible office park. Small company, friendly coworkers, decent benefits. The family who owns the company are nice.

Cons

Absolutely no positive reinforcement. Managers are stressed and uninterested, which is projected onto the staff. Toxic work environment is reflected in a high turnover rate.

Pros

Very family friendly. Great people. Bosses are more like peers that lead, very approachable and fair. There is a lot of exciting stuff going on that is re-defining the way books are developed.

Cons

The industry has taken a beating over the past few years. The financial crisis that has hit the country affected the publishing industry greatly. When publishers don't publish, shops get no work. When shops have no work, people get let go. A horrible by-product of the economy.

Pros

It's a great atmosphere. Everyone is friendly and the work isn't difficult. Decent place to start a career.

Cons

The pay isn't great. Starting out for a Project Manager role for experience it's not bad, but it's not a place to stay long term. It's hourly pay. After two years, I've gone up $1/hr, and that's because of a company-wide raise. Otherwise raises are about $0.30.
