Pros

As videographer on the Corporate HR Talent and Learning team, I had the opportunity to visit numerous GXO warehouse sites while creating training content. My role allowed me to connect with many of the dedicated hourly workers who are truly the backbone of the company’s operations. I consistently found these people to be hardworking, generous with their time and insights, and incredibly supportive. Their commitment to their work and willingness to collaborate made my job rewarding. My opportunities to meet these people and learn from them were the highlights of my employment at GXO.

Cons

GXO’s ‘startup culture’ prioritizes relentless output over meaningful work, valuing quantity while giving little genuine consideration to quality. Also, the company’s employee growth programs are largely superficial, existing primarily to create the appearance of career development without offering real support or advancement opportunities. These hollow training programs lack depth and practical value, doing little to impact employees’ careers or skills in a meaningful way. Teamwork is similarly undermined by a culture of factionalism, driven by generally low competence among corporate leadership and many in the corporate rank and file. Instead of fostering genuine collaboration, the environment encourages siloed groups and internal divisions, making it challenging to accomplish cohesive, quality work. GXO also fails to provide industry-standard equipment, expecting employees to bear the cost of essential tools out of pocket. Mental health support is shallow and mostly performative. While GXO claims to value work-life balance and employee well-being, in practice, those who overextend themselves are celebrated, while employees who set healthy boundaries are marginalized. All together I found GXO to be an extraordinarily stressful work environment that was harmful to my mental health, physical health, and professional growth.

Pros

It's a steady job for the short term and the work is easy.

Cons

Here we go. This is the most unprofessional work environment I've seen with some of the most incompetent people I've ever worked with. It's miraculous that this location manages to function at all. There's a very high turnover rate (for a reason) with temp workers coming and leaving so quickly it's hard to keep tabs on who actually works there. Work expectations are unrealistic as they often don't have the equipment needed for their employees to do their job in a timely manner or the material cannot be located because the record keeping is atrocious. Communication between shifts, and within, is nearly non-existent. The upper management asks for input for improvement but nothing ever comes of it. Meetings are a literal waste of time and you'll find yourself slowly going mad as you realize you're going to keep encountering the same issues over and over again because they never get addressed. If you're a yes-man, people pleaser, have low self esteem and need an external source of validation of your worth, and/or don't mind incessantly walking into walls, you might not mind working here (the management will love it too). For others who want their input to be valued, that won't be the case. Perhaps at first, before you've had a chance to form your own opinion, it'll seem benign and 'friendly'. They push an image of 'family' and a culture of 'safety' but it's just a projection by management so they can get their numbers and please their superiors to climb that ladder. Some employees drink on the job, others smoke marijuana and hide out, both situations tolerated by management, while those who actually work well are harassed for not working 'faster'. Supervisors take shortcuts and press others to do the same, putting their employees at risk of injury. It's a paycheck and a good stepping stone to something better. If you have an ounce of pride in the work you do or have good work ethic be prepared for disappointment. You're better off in a healthy environment where your skills will be valued. HR is notorious for miscalculating payroll, when we actually have an HR representative (there was a period lasting months that there was no one). Getting straight answers regarding benefits and other policies is painstakingly difficult if it's even possible. I've seen employees get away with sleeping on pallets, threatening harm to other employees, etc, it's an absolute joke of a place to work. I had to write this review to look at other reviews so I figured I'd give it my 100% ;) Good luck.

Pros

Everyone I worked with was friendly.

Cons

They could have cared more for their bottom level staff. The staff would work in a warehouse for 12 hour shifts and be expected to stand the entire time. They refused to provide chairs for the associates, even though a significant portion of their job was standing in front of a computer checking things in. Even weirder, other facilities had chairs and it showed chairs in training materials.
