Pros

Opportunity to work from home and met some great people.

Cons

Garmin Australia is run so poorly. Management aren’t trained to manage staff and constantly promote their favourites or family members into higher better paid positions. Not much opportunity for anyone who doesn’t suck up to the manager. Simple tasks are treated like they’re extremely urgent and important when they’re not and at the same time staff are treated as babies as if they can’t think or act for themselves. The company treats any staff not in management like dirt and like they cannot trust them to do their job. Pay is extremely low compared to the current job market and majority of staff are looking for a new job. Great workers are leaving every month.

Pros

Great benefits, nice and smart people, culture is generally good. The company is stable and conservatively managed, and always seems to turn a profit. Despite the pay not being very competitive, when combined with the benefits and stability, the overall package is attractive.

Cons

You must be very sparing with the word "no" to be successful here. Saying "yes" is rewarded and has resulted in a culture where no one wants to raise the flag when there are issues. Its best for your career if you aren't the one person making noise about something as you will be alone. Managers hate when people pursue different roles - this will hurt your career. The best career path is to leave and then later come back.
