Pros

A lot of overtime. Mandatory overtime.

Cons

7 days a week, 12 hour days. They think one Sunday off a month is a reward only deserved if we meet quota. Which you can't because they refuse to train anyone, the "Quality" people only come around when the moon is full, have 1 guy running a machine that requires 3. Management is clique heavy. Turnover is horrid. Bonuses are only available to warehouse employees. Starting pay is less than Taco Bell. No holidays off even though they say they have paid holidays off. That's for office and upper management.

Pros

You can work 6 hour days or 12 hour days depending on if you have a team.

Cons

Parking downtown is not paid for so “pay to work” here! No hybrid or remote options AT ALL (well only if you are one of the favorites of CSuite) Poor leadership Benefits have a catch sometimes Pay discrepancy Be prepared for your team members to be laid off or quit so you get to regularly do the job of 3-5 people. HR is horrible (see below) Turnover in HR has been astronomical over the past 5 years. I think over 200%. When HR has bad turnover you know that’s a bad sign for a company. Leadership at Gates has declined throughout the years and has become an old boys club with no progressive action. They are ran by a board that picks a new topic of the quarter. It was DEI (don’t even get me started on the sad DEI program that Gates implemented) then it was Glassdoor where they actively asked specific employees to write positive reviews. (Clearly isn’t working as the rating here isn’t great.) If you are desperate for a job then you should come to Gates but if you have a choice in the matter don’t. Their practice is lay offs each year to keep shareholders happy… so keep that in mind as well if you want job security.
