Pros

Gain a lot of experience and able to make a difference to the business by working with tight nit teams and often times reporting directly to VPs. The company allows for a business casual environment and has retained a few vets from years past, but most the employees are new to the company. By having mostly new employees there does seem to have a bunch of positive and excited folks looking forward to making a difference for the company. There is less separation of departments, due to smaller groups, so this allows for quicker brainstorming activity and you can get see the end results of the hard work the team puts in.

Cons

Under staff departments in marketing, IT, web, and accounting create a difficult challenge to keep up with the competition in a fast moving industry. Other hardware companies have a larger marketing department and budgets, so they are able to blanket key dates and also change up creative and experiment withe emerging media. By having so many new people there seems to be a longer learning curve experienced overall as a whole and may have added to some of the turn-over consistently experienced in some departments. Also, there seemed to be a lot of time doing reverse engineering of past processes while trying implement new ones that never seemed to end.

Pros

You will be working with great people in a supportive environment.

Cons

This company has been financially struggling for years. Even after a takeover by Acer of China a year ago, there are layoffs every 2-3 months. Its become part of life. There is no way to climb the latter in a situation like that.

Pros

That's a very good question. The stores are gone now so I can't really comment on what it's like today. When I worked for the stores I had a flexible manager, but rarely received feedback or guidance. It was nice to get discounts on their merchedise.

Cons

I wouldn't know amymore since they closed the stores. But I'll bet it's still lack of appreciation for employees and lack of growth opportunities.
