A good place to learn before you get serious with a career
Pros
The people are incredible. Loved 99% of my coworkers, they made the stressful job worth it. Willing to hire people fresh out of school with limited experience. I learned a lot about how to play politics. There were lots of lessons learned that will ultimately make me a better employee throughout my entire career.
Cons
Management (On the operations division of the trade floor), shows the appearance of separate departments but it is really run by one micromanager who picks the people who will be promoted before the job is even available for applications. While it's the exception not the rule there are traders who believe they are god's gift to the financial industry, under the delusion that they are big shots on Wall Street, rather than little guys on Dodge street.
