Pros

Fun atmosphere, you get more happy and grateful clients than not, the geek squad culture is awesome and promotes goofiness and competence at the same time. Benefits are great when you hit full-time.

Cons

It's retail and customer service - like you'd expect, you have to deal with customers who are outright rude and aggressive. Hours suck. Management can be good or bad, can take care of you or take advantage of you; it all depends on what store you're at.

Pros

If you become close with your base store and other agents, can be very enjoyable. Drive company issued car to client's homes or small businesses. If you have patience, and a passion for changing technology and client facing/customer service, this can be a fun experience. Decent pay for the amount of work that is done. Good benefits (medical, dental, 401K). Not very stressful during the day. Only about 3-6 appointments a day, lasting anywhere from 1hr to 3hrs. Able to control your own schedule for the most part. Set schedule (Sunday and Monday off). Very minimal micromanaging from management. Employee discount the best in the industry, no where else comes close.

Cons

Too many changes to the position when new upper management is changed. For ex: no longer able to work remotely from home 2 days a week. No longer able to bring Geek Squad car home. Holiday schedule changes from year to year. Changed bonus structure from individual to team bonus structure. Less monthly bonuses if you have team members who don't do their jobs. Clients will drive you crazy if you let them. Many times they want more than what they stated on the phone, or when they originally scheduled the appointment and expect you to do whatever they want at no additional charge. Depending on the area, some clients feel like you work for them. Call Center/ Scheduling department CONSTANTLY messes up schedules, promises clients things that are incorrect, and makes our job so frustrating.

Pros

Before you read/post a review, this site is not anonymous and you are not protected from your employers retaliation. My co-worker is being worked over since posting a negative review on this site. Google "Constructive Dismissal." I can't think of a single pro that justifies working at this company. There is a leniency with rules that can be enjoyed? There would have to be. Anyone who takes this job seriously is in for a let down.

Cons

Like I said, it might depend on the store. Working outside of pay grade because the "store is a family" but seeing no benefit from doing so as management is fickle while workers must be generous. They don't seem to respect education as I've seen no change in pay or attitude towards me despite my degrees and certifications. As I said, management is fickle and performing well in numbers grants a free drink or some other childish incentive that can be replaced by actual pay per performance. On the plus side, performing poorly will give you the same reward depending on the day. Can't take sick days, but disciplinary action is a joke so no worries there. No one is honest with you. Hours are cut and you're to blame for them, pay raises aren't given because corporate won't allow it, new employees are brought in at a higher pay than you. Oh and you're told not to discuss your employment with other employees. That's illegal.
