Pros

Great starting place for those interested in Technology. Good starting place to grow sales and PC repair skills. Some good knowledge is handed down through the internal training system (learning lounge). The work environment is usually pretty fun.

Cons

Experiences vary wildly between locations, based on the store's management. Bad habit of not training new employees properly, causing older employees more work in cleaning up the messes of others, or generally getting everyone down when a simple issue becomes a nightmare. Be prepared to be told by that you know nothing and are simply a glorified sales person. Management support is usually spread too thin to help effectively when needed. Be prepared to work just about anywhere (not that that's a bad thing) because you are likely going to perform tasks and require knowledge from just about every department in the store, including warehouse. Be prepared to works as a part timer for quite a while.

Pros

The ability to make a difference in peoples lives. The daily opportunity to bring individuals closer through interconnecting and troubleshooting their technology devices. The experience of getting to experience the newest technology on the market, ability to play with it, and learn how it works.

Cons

Constant micro-management. The magnifying glass management spies on your through anytime your having a good time, assuming your up to no good. Political unrest in attempting to advancing through the chain of command.

Pros

Access to new gadgets. Meeting lots of very interesting people. Lots of travelling. Lots of trialling new hardware and software. Very Autonomous.

Cons

As you were the sole representative for the organisation in a large area (we had about 6 in Scotland when I worked there) sometimes when you have a time critical job on, it feels desolate.
