Pros

working with other nice people, your cost for health insurance is based on your salary category. lower paid employees pay less for their insurance, healthy rewards program also helps lower this cost too if you participate. They can be understanding when you must miss work, that is left to the managers' disgression.

Cons

geisinger health insurance has a 500 deductible, forces you to use mail order for prescriptions, company discriminates against smokers, will not employee smokers. HR representatives are not availabe and do not respond to your questions. HR department makes decision about punishments/suspensions or warnings without speaking to you at all. CPSL schedulers have very difficult jobs because office staff refuse to answer telephone calls to assist patients with symptoms, med issue or other problems. The patients have extremely high hold times and are angry when they get to the schedulers, putting a lot of pressure on the scheduler to have a decent call. I have had numerous callers with serious symptoms and could not get nurses to answer the phone. The nurses would pick up the phone and hang up on us. We told management about this issue but nothing was ever done about it. There is no communication within the organization itself. I took an entry level job in the hopes to branch out to a better job but I did not make it that far.

Decent benefits, but salaried employee exploitation happens often.

Pros

Decent benefits Pay is "ok" for the rural area it's in.

Cons

Toxic culture. Self centered and untrustful management. Political environment that changes based on management opinion. A lot of change for the sake of change.
