High turnover

Pros

An excellent place to learn how to 'pretend to care.'

Cons

Advanced practitioners are easily replaceable and therefore ignored at Geisinger. If a patient arrives late, you must find time to see them or face punishment. Management is slow to respond and quick to penalize. You have 4 hours of admin time (if full-time), but you are required to attend 2 hours of mandatory, unpaid meetings per week. No wonder PAs leave after 2-3 years—their system is not sustainable. The current manager is playing a game of 'pass the bomb.' Join them if you must, but be prepared to leave before the bomb explodes!
