Pros and Cons

Pros

Staff is great, management is not. They currently have a good nurse/patient ratio, but are transitioning to a lousy care model that no one likes ("team" nursing without aides or lpns). If you are new to acute care, it makes it almost impossible to learn time/patient management. Experienced nurses will find it cumbersome, annoying, and it impacts quality of care.

Cons

Management doesn't listen and doesn't care. They are respectful randomly. Though I never worked for Geisinger and knew no one, I was treated poorly from day one. Others were treated respectfully from day one. It's a gamble.
