Pros

Great emr. Truly pt centered care but at the cost of their staff. Amazing patients.

Cons

Middle management bloated and responsive only to upper managent and not to the staff. Critiques are not welcome and potentially fatal for your career there. Be sure to ask who and why the last person was that left there and why.

Pros

Nothing. I guess I can say that it taught me to look out for myself more. Because Geisinger brags about their Code of Conduct and employee hotline nonsense, but no, its all who you know. Nothing gets done.

Cons

Hard work is not rewarded here. Lazy? Like to push your work onto others? Better yet, like to do that, while trying to push out the hard workers? This place is for you. I understand that there is crap everywhere, but never as bad as this place. I thought I could make something of myself here. Move up the ladder. No way. As soon as coworkers see potential in you, they see competition, and make it so hard for you. And nothing gets done to help you if you reach out to try to get it stopped. You truly are just a number there. That "Geisinger Caring" thing is just crap.

Pros

A large stable employer that is over 100 years old and headquartered in rural PA. Too big to fail.

Cons

The workforce is apathetic and there is dead wood among the ranks which makes it an unpleasant place to work. Motivated and highly capable employees leave but the mediocre stay because there is little other job opportunity for them in the area. Flu vaccines are mandatory for all employees even if they work fulltime from their homes. There is focus on the appearance of compliance with all sorts of rules. The rules are violated all of the time, but those that are capable of even seeing that know better than to say anything. Management makes very clear the range of acceptable opinion about everything.
