95% of the lab assistance have a bachelors of science, yet the environmental staff gets paid more than us. They are deserving of this pay of course, but the lab assistants are also more than deserving. We have to deal with constant short staff, things change constantly, they expect you to keep updated on procedural changes outside of work despite this pitiful salary and expect you to bend over backwards with no reward.. If you're smart, you'll just take the sign on bonus and salary of the Janitors.. This position will not help you to advance in your field of study anyway, nobody has your back, stay away.

Understaffed, expected to function in job roles you were not hired for. Not great compensation for working mandatory overtime with constant irregular schedule changes. Poor communication with management. They talk about being able to advance your career but after being there quite some time, all internal positions applied to tell you you don’t have enough experience.
