Pros

Good health benefits (if you choose Geisinger providers) at good prices (if you participate in MyHealthRewards)

Cons

Extra effort barely noticed and certainly not compensated Management "acknowledges" complaints, but then doesn't follow up (either with visible actions or with a simple update to let the employee know what's going on)

Pros

Insurance is inexpensive. Time off accrues at a decent rate.

Cons

Understaffed and overworked. Management shows no respect for their workers. Complaints, no matter how legitimate, are viewed as whining. Even if everyone in the department has the same complaint, you are lucky if you can even get management to listen to what is wrong and you can be guaranteed nothing will be done. People are fleeing the department like they would a sinking boat and management just asks those still there to "step up" and claim they cannot hire new people. In the event they ever do decide to hire, the hiring process for Geisinger takes forever. You'll get one raise a year and it will be tiny and they'll act like they're doing you a favor giving you a 1.5-2% raise.
