      Pros

      Nothing much. Just rather friendly colleagues, and can go back on time once work is done for the day.

      Cons

      Extremely toxic work environment. Colleagues are friendly but not the most helpful. Ask them a question and they don’t even bother helping much, just bare minimum. Can be overwhelming for new staff, as they want to learn as much but feels like they are annoying the senior staff when they ask questions, as they are always gathering around and chitchatting in other departments. Supervisors will shout at you if you are slow at your job, even if you are new and still trying your best to learn. No empathy at all from bosses. Don’t bother applying if you are not fluent or good in chinese as everything is chinese there including their system.

      Pros

      I am lucky to have a great team and upper management staff which make working for Genscript a true joy. My superiors and colleagues all work together to promote work life balance and support each other. Genscript has been very accommodating for furthering education and having comprehensive training opportunities for employees. Genscript is also well respected in the field as providing high quality products and taking on projects most other CROs cannot handle. It is nice to work for a company furthering their service and product offerings as well as keeping up quality.

      Cons

      It would be appreciated if management and HR worked together to further the linear trajectories for some of the positions at Genscript. There seems to be some fast ceilings on some of the positions which requires employees to travel laterally in the company ( to a different department for example) to grow your career past a certain point. It would be nice for the company to invest in some of the account management positions to develop more roles, as some of the positions have very broad responsibilities which may be better utilized by dividing up between specialized employees. Compensation is lower on all accounts compared to the market in similar roles.
